My goodness, this song is making me blush! Adorbs! What an appropriate song to kick off summer, am I right?
Jillboard.com readers, meet Alphabeat, Alphabeat, meet the world. (Err, but perhaps the world already knows all about you guys? I’m not sure, but I’ve only just met you tonight, and boy did y’all make my heart skip a beat).
‘Vacation’ is a fun, flirty, whimsical little ditty by Danish pop band Alphabeat, and it totes has all the qualities I could ever ask for in my ideal summer anthem:
- Heavy 80′s sound
- It makes me feel so… carefree! Like, hair down, windows down, now please
- Lyrics are catchy as hell
- 100% danceability
- Vocals got some delightful duet action
- The music video is equally as adorable
- Um, maracas… Enough said
So if any of you have been contemplating on whether or not you should go on that summer trip you’re still not sure if you can afford… Well, I think you should put your feet in the sand and have yourself a vacation.Tags: alphabeat

Pssssst. Hey guys! How creepy is the cover art from Gossip’s new album, ‘A Joyful Noise?’ (Which just dropped Tuesday!)
Beth Ditto, the band’s lead singer, is looking much like a female Marilyn Mason here with those yellow eyes and um, a balloon hand?? I’m not quite sure what they’re trying to convey with this imagery, but regardless, I won’t judge a song by their eerie looks, because Gossip’s latest single “Move in the Right Direction” is super catchy and a whole lotta f-u-n!
Beth Ditto’s power vocals ring pop-punk-angst meets luminous merry glow, fo sho. Matched with the 80′s dancey beat, this song has my name written ALL over it. Yup, I’ll def be rocking out in the shower to this ditty for the next few days… or weeks. Let’s just hope I don’t slip while jamming out with my clam out. TMI? Oops, I was just trying to match Gossip’s creepy-imagery in my own words. Plus, I just LOVE to shower naked.Tags: gossip
Dudes! Can we get down with this song? Please? Holy crap. This song just SCREAMS Saturday night. I bring to you a balls-to-the-wall, tub-thumping JAM, produced by Amsterdam-based DJ, Don Diablo.
I literally JUST discovered this song yesterday during my office day job. Upon first listen, I was transported off to club fantasy land. Here, I sprung out of my seat onto my desk the moment the beat dropped. I ripped off all my clothes, including my ‘sensitives,’ and rocked my whole body wildly while standing on my desk.
In reality, the most I could do without getting fired was tap my feet under my desk and bob my head in a gentle, I-swear-I’m-not-crazy-I-just can-really-dig-this-song kind of way. You know what I mean? Check it.Tags: don diablo, Smiler
What the what!? Just when I thought my head couldn’t handle anymore remixes, out comes this explosive JAM: “Devil’s Work” (Dirty South remix) from Miike Snow’s new album, ‘Happy to You.’ This song honestly makes me want to girate my body in a dancey sweaty nightclub til 4am… In the nicest way possible.
Miike Snow, the Swedish electric pop band from Sweden is hitting up NYC hard this week, with three shows in a row at Terminal 5- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
I saw these dudes at Bonnaroo in 2010, and it was love at first listen. Yours truly will be at Wednesday’s show, and reporting back with all the dirty deets. I may or may not be floating in musical heaven all night… And I think you should be too. If you haven’t bought your tickets off craigslist yet, what are you waiting for?Tags: Dirty South, miike snow

TIESTO, I WANT YOUR BABIES. Okay, so I was just starting to like Gotye’s original version of this but now… My world has been turned upside down. Tiesto released his club version of the hit summer song and I’m pretty sure that my severe sweat stains aren’t due to the 90 degree heat outside but to the fire this song puts in my soul. Oh yeah. This song is BURNING. We get it Tiesto, you’re amazing. Please continue to remix every hit song and make it a gazillion times better. I can’t get enough of the drops and just everything in this song. I’m thirsty for more Tiesto! That would be a cool drink though, wouldn’t it? A Tiesto. It would be like 4 shots of vodka and an ounce of raspberry lemonade. I promise I’m not an alcoholic. Just give me some more Tiesto – he may actually act as a substitute for alcohol.Tags: Gotye, Kimbra, Tiesto
